Easdale is perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding district with its many attractions and activities. There are several self catering cottages on the island many of which offer unrivalled sea views and luxury accommodation.  Bed & Breakfast is available on the mainland. For things to do why not take a high speed adventure boat trip with Sea.fari to the Corryvreckan Whirlpool and see the local wildlife. Basking sharks, dolphins, minke whales and porpoises are all regular visitors in the surrounding area as well as white tailed sea eagles, golden eagles and many other sea birds. Sea.fari also offer trips to Iona, Colonsay and can be privately chartered. Just over the water in Ellenabeich, Isle of Seil there is John C. Taylor Highland Arts Gift shop which also has a putting green, The Slate Islands Heritage Trust, An Cala Gardens and The Oyster Bar & Restaurant. A few miles up the road in Balvicar village is Balvicar Stores and Post Office and a Golf Course. At the crossroads you can either turn right and head for the Isle of Luing (great for walks and cycling) or turn left and continue towards the main road passing on your way the Tigh an Truish at the Clachan Bridge and also Ardmaddy Castle Gardens. 

Oban is famous as ‘Gateway to The Isles’ with many of the island ferries docking here. There is also a whisky distillery and a trip up to McCaigs tower at the top of the hill offers fantastic views over Oban Bay. Oban is the main shopping town in the area  with several supermarkets as well as various retail and gift shops, cafes, cinema and many excellent restaurants. There is also Atlantis Leisure which has gym, sport and swimming facilities. There is a Tourist Information Centre situated in Argyll Square.

Other great places to visit for a day out include Kilmelford, Kilmartin Museum, Inverawe Country Park & Smokehouse, Isle of Kerrera, Tralee Bay, Cruachan Power Station, St Conan’s Kirk, Inverary Jail and Castle, Port Appin and Lismore to name but a few.
Easdale is an excellent base for Sea Kayaking and there are lots of little bays and islands to explore up and down the coast. There is easy launching and parking at Ellenabeich on the mainland which is also suitable for RIB’s. Easdale Island harbour is tidal but we welcome RIB’s and small craft. For yachts visiting there is a holding mooring in Easdale sound just north of the old dilapidated pier. This is community owned and a £10 donation can be handed in at The Puffer. The ferrymen will usually be happy to transport you to the island when they are operating if you do not have a tender.
